Reports are coming out of South Carolina that former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Gaines Adams has died.
"Gaines Adams went into cardiac arrest at his family's home early Sunday morning, said Marcia Kelley-Clark, chief deputy coroner for Greenwood County. He was pronounced dead about an hour later, she said.
An autopsy conducted Sunday showed Gaines Adams had an enlarged heart, a condition Kelley-Clark said can often lead to a heart attack. But Adams' relatives didn't know about it."
Adams, 26, listed at 6-foot-5 and 256 pounds, played in college at Clemson and was drafted by the Tampa Bay with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft. He was traded to the Bears in October.More and more professional athletes are dying due to unforseen medical issues. Yet another loss to another team for unknown reasons.
